Determination of the Effects of a Series of Ten Whole-Body Cryostimulation Sessions on Physiological Responses to Exercise and Skin Temperature Behavior following Exercise in Elite Athletes

The present study investigated the effects of a series 10 whole-body cryostimulation (WBC) sessions (3 min; −110 °C) on physiological and thermal responses to submaximal exercise test in 17 elite athletes. Participants performed an twice at similar levels intensity before after ten WBC sessions. Before during test, each participant’s oxygen uptake (VO2), heart rate (HR), internal temperature (Ti), skin selected areas were measured, mean arterial pressure (MAP), strain index (PSI), (Tsk) calculated. results show that exercise, increases Ti PSI significantly lower sessions, although there no significant changes HR or MAP, Tsk was higher. Following increase asymmetry over lower-body muscles detected. A induced tendency toward decrease thigh muscles. In conclusion, does not induce modifications variables but influence exercise. Moreover, influences distribution magnitude asymmetries early phase recovery.
